Patricia Calder
When she was twenty-four Pat rambled around Europe for over a year, skied the famous mountains, lived in a commune, danced the vine in an olive grove. She drank it all in, developing her eye as a young photographer.
Her past travels carried her to Sable Island to photograph the legendary feral horses, and to Newfoundland – Change Islands and Fogo – with the ponies and icebergs, music and stories. In 2018 she visited Great Bear Rainforest and captured images of Spirit Bears, black bears, one grizzly, eagles, and whales. She drove solo into Yukon to photograph landscapes studded with glacial rivers and lakes. She met a moose cow and calf, and three generations of First Nations people on horseback. When Pat sees the play of light through her lens on land and water, the muscles of animals, or the feathers of birds, she wants a permanent record of the beauty in that moment. www.patriciacalder.ca patcalder12@gmail.com 905-355-3005 Location #17: 11 Cedar Street, Colborne Directions: In the town of Colborne, Cedar Street runs E from Percy Street (Cty Rd 25), 2 blocks N of King Street (Cty Rd 2) |
